Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (ofdm) is used for transmitting high data rates over frequency-selective radio channels in order to simplify equalization. No equalization at all is required if a differential modulation scheme is used. In this paper we compare the performance of convolutionally coded ofdm systems with coherent and with differential modulation in terms of bit error rate.
