Contribution from ρ exchange to the reaction\(\bar p{\mathcal{N}} - \bar {\mathcal{N}}({\mathcal{N}}\pi )_{I = \tfrac{1}{2}} \)

Summary

The results of a cross channel isospin amplitude analysis of the reaction\(\bar p{\mathcal{N}} - {\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\pi \) at 5.7 GeV/c, concerning the isovector exchange amplitudeM 2/11 , with the\({\mathcal{N}}\pi \) system in anI=1/2 state, have been used to analysis the nature of this amplitude. It is found that, in order to describe the mass dependence of theM 2/11 it is necessary to include contributions from both ρ and π exchanges in the crossed channel. Such two-component model can also describe theM 2/11 amplitude obtained from single-pion production in both\(\pi {\mathcal{N}}\) and\(p{\mathcal{N}}\) collisions as shown earlier. It thus seems to exist a common interpretation of this amplitude for all these different reactions.

Si sono usati i risultati dell'analisi dell'ampiezza a canale incrociato della reazione\(\bar p{\mathcal{N}} - {\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\pi \) a 5.7 GeV/c, riguardanti l'ampiezza di scambio isovettorialeM 2/11 , con il sistema\({\mathcal{N}}\pi \) in uno statoI=1/2, per analizzare la natura di questa ampiezza.
