Incoherent scattering of gamma-rays in C, O, Al and S

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

The total atomic cross-sections are determined in carbon, oxygen, aluminium and sulphur at photon energies 52.0, 73.0, 84.2, 145.4, 279.2 and 661.6 keV by transmission method in a good geometry set-up. The incoherent-scattering cross-sections are obtained by subtracting the theoretical sum of atomic photoeffect and coherent scattering crosssections from the measured total cross-sections. The results obtained have been compared with theoretical values.
