Summary
Experimental gamma-ray scattering cross-sections in sulphur at nine energies in the energy region (50÷400) keV were determined by subtracting the accurate theoretical photoelectric cross-sections of Scofield from the measured total gamma-ray cross-sections. These results are compared with the theoretical total scattering cross-section estimates of Hubbelet al. and excellent agreement was found.

Si determinano le sezioni d'urto sperimentali dello scattering dei raggi gamma nello zolfo a nove energie nella regione di energia (50÷400) keV sottraendo le accurate sezioni d'urto teoriche fotoelettriche di Scofield dalle sezioni d'urto totali misurate dei raggi gamma. Si confrontano questi risultati con le stime teoriche della sezione d'urto totale di scattering di Hubbelet al. e si trova un accordo eccellente.
