Zusammenfassung

Mehrtägige perorale Verabreichung von Cholin führt bei Hunden und Menschen zu einer kurzdauernden Steigerung des Blutzuckers und einer längerdauernden bzw. mitunter erst später einsetzenden Steigerung der Blutketonkörper. --- Der Blutfettgehalt verhält sich uncharak-teristisch, ebenso das Körpergewicht.

Als Ursache der erwähnten Reaktionen wird eine Förderung der intrahepatischen Neubildung von Kohlehydrat aus Fett durch Cholin vermutet.
