Determination of the dimensions of the middle cyclinder with a nonuniform distribution of control points on the surface of large cylindrical products

Abstract

New methods of determining the base middle cylinder are proposed for use in analyzing deviations in the shape of cylindrical products. Recommendations are also given on the use of the corresponding algorithms for making this determination. Allowance is made for possible nonuniformity in the location of the control points on the cylindrical surface being tested. Accuracy is improved by introducing weight factors into the least squares method used to find the axis and radius of the middle cylinder.
