Abstract
New method and equipment are described for studying intracranial echo pulsations. With the help of ultrasonic equipment and a video recorder, intracranial echo pulsations are recorded and stored. By playing back the videorecorder, it is possible to display echo pulsations of several echoes on an oscilloscope with a magnified time base and a brightness modulation, and also with a pen recorder. With the pen recording it is possible to study the shape of the echo pulsations in more detail. Further, it is possible to observe the behaviour of all intracranial echoes simultaneously. Pulsations of structures over the whole diameter of the skull can be compared, which might be helpful in obtaining a better insight into the cerebral circulation of patients with brain disease.
Sommaire
