Summary
In cats under chloralose anaesthesia, the efferent spinal discharges of extrapyramidal — presumably reticulo-spinal — origin, which can be elicited by various types of sensory stimuli, can easily be suppressed by short trains of electric shocks applied to the head of the caudate nucleus.
