Cobalt promoted iron based catalysts for water-gas shift reaction. Structure and catalytic activity

Abstract

The increased catalytic activity of cobalt oxide promoted iron-chromia catalysts for water-gas shift reaction is explained by the formation and stabilization of a γ-Fe2O3-like phase\(Fe^{3 + } \left[ {Fe_{1 + 2/3^x }^{3 + } Fe_{1 - x - z}^{2 + } Co_z^{2 + } v_{1/3} } \right]o_4 \) in the presence of cobalt.
