Summary
In anther cultures ofDatura metel, pollen-embryoids could be induced on a medium consisting of honey alone. Further studies revealed that a combination of fructose and dextrose was sufficient to trigger pollen-embryogenesis. The 2 sugars, when tried individually, did not elicit any response.
