Quadruplet spectroscopy in the region of strong nuclear octupole correlations

Abstract

Experimental evidence from the spectroscopy of155Gd and153Sm for the theoretically predicted quadruplet band structure, with band parity sequences (+−−+) and (−++−), is examined.
