On the determination of small concentrations of interstitial carbon and nitrogen in bcc iron

  • Published:
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics B Aims and scope

Abstract

The disaccommodation of the initial susceptibility has been studied on samples of bcc iron containing both carbon and nitrogen in solid solution. Two simple methods for separate determination of concentrations of relaxators in dual solid solutions have been developed and applied to the determination of low carbon and nitrogen contents in bcc iron. Both these methods consist in the decomposition of the magnetic (or mechanical) relaxation measurements and because they are universal they can be used in the study of many other point defects in different materials.
