Properties of some tetraphenylboronates of transition metal complexes

  • Published:
Transition Metal Chemistry Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Solid tetraphenylboronates of some cations,e.g. [Fe(1,10 phen)3]3+ , [Co(NH3)6]3+, with E° values ⩾-0.26V are unstable, either thermally or photo chemically, or both. Products of such redox reactions are identified. The contrasting situation with more reducing cations,e.g. [Cr(en)3 ]3+, is described.
