Abstract
This article presents a conceptual framework intended to demonstrate how the humanistic and behavioral approaches to discipline may be integrated around a set of common themes. It is argued that both approaches are intended to help caregivers achieve competence in each of three discipline “aspects”: control, tolerance, and warmth.
