Summary
-
1.
The effect of hypothalamic stimulation with condenser discharges producing a rise in blood pressure and a contraction of the n. m. is abolished by i. v. injection of TEA (10 mg/kilo). This effect is believed to be due to the blocking of autonomic synapses.
-
2.
At the same time the blood pressure rises following the injection of isopressor concentrations of adrenalin and nor-adrenalin are greatly augmented. This reaction as well as the changes in pulse rate appear to be due to a temporary elimination of sino-aortic depressor reflexes.
-
3.
The responses of the normal and acutely denervated n. m. to adrenalin and nor-adrenalin are not increased in 76 out of 91 trials in which the blood pressure response to adrenalin was greatly augmented.
Zusammenfassung
-
1.
