Reaction of 2-acetyl-5-methyl-1,2,3-diazaphosphole and 5-methyl-2-phenyl-1,2,3-diazaarsole with diphenyldiazomethane leads to formation of phosphirane- and arsirane-containing bicyclic compounds.

In reaction with nitrones 5-methyl-2-phenyl-1,2,3-diazaarsole, as well as 2,5-diphenyl-1,2,3-diazaarsole, forms analogous [2+3]-cycloadducts.
