Interaction between the atoms and groups in the molecule leads to an anomalous positioning of the absorption maxima in the spectra of the N-α-polynitroalkylhydrazine anions.

The acidity of the N-α-polynitroalkylhydrazine derivatives is three orders higher than that of the corresponding gem-dinitroalkanes.
