Conclusions
-
1.
The IR spectra of solid hydroxyethylethylenediaminetriacetic acid (HEDTA) and its potassium salts and their deutero derivatives were investigated.
-
2.
From an analysis of the characteristic frequencies of the C-O, C-H, O-H, and N-H bonds it follows that HEDTA and its acid potassium salts have a betaine structure.
