Spectral manifestation of structure and symmetry in saturated five-membered heterocycles

  • Published:
Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

This paper considers the spectral transition in different vibrational-spectral regions of cyclopentane to monosubstituted heterocyclic molecules and saturated molecules with two ring heteroatoms. Particular attention is paid to nonplanar-vibrational frequencies and frequencies below 200 cm−1. The latter are interpreted as rotational-rocking frequencies. The essential dependence of low frequencies on the geometric, electrical, and magnetic structure of heterocyclic molecules is demonstrated.
