Polymer Mechanics Aims and scope

Abstract

The effect of UV radiation and vacuum on the strength and failure of polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) films has been studied. After irradiation samples were extended in air. It was found that the strength and plasticity of the films is diminished by irradiation in vacuum or in air.
