1.
Ethylenediaminediacetic acid and its salts were investigated by the method of IR spectroscopy. The highly characteristic nature of the absorption bands of the CN and NH bonds in the spectra of the compounds studied was demonstrated.

2.
The presence of the absorption bands of the CH bond, belonging to two different types of methylene groups — from ethylenediamine and from the aceto groups — was established in the spectra of the acid and its derivatives. Of the absorption bands of the CH bond, the low-frequency bands belonging to the methylene groups of ethylenediamine are characteristic.
