Abstract

TheHIS3 gene of the yeastYarrowia lipolytica has been cloned from a genomic library by complementation of thehis3 mutation ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae. The gene was subsequently subcloned inEscherichia coli and characterized by restriction enzyme mapping.
