Achievements and prospects in the field of man-made fibre modification (review)

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Conclusion

Modification of the properties of synthetic fibres during the process of their manufacture can be effected by various means. The modification methods include changing the composition of the fibre, the possibility of combining several polymers or fibres, and also changing the technology of the fibres and of their processing. The design of modified fibres that have new properties opens up broad opportunities for further development of the textile industry. New requirements arise which reflect the requirements of contemporary users. Modification of synthetic fibres has become one of the important factors which ensure their further development.
