Abstract
It was established that N-acetylindoxyl arylhydrazones are converted to 12-acetamidoindolo[1,2-c]quinazolines in acetic acid in the presence of acetic anhydride, evidently through a step involving the formation of arylhydrazoindole derivatives. A new method for the synthesis of 12-acetamidoindolo[1,2-c]quinazolines from N,O-diacetylindoxyls and arylhydrazines is proposed.
