Summary
The electrophysiological preparation containing the microelectrode in situ was subjected to sudden freezing and freeze drying. In the histological sections it was possible to see the recording electrode directly and to localize the tip with high precision.
The forms of step-like stimulated light potentials from various depths in the retina and from the lamina were shown to be dependent on stimulus intensity. The potential vs. intensity curves showed depth dependent differences. Several extensive visual fields were found in the lamina.
