Abstract
Chemical transformations of the sesquiterpene lactone arglabin are reviewed. Approaches to the synthesis of new arglabin derivatives, which are polyfunctional compounds containing hydroxy functions, halogen, phosphorus, and nitrogen atoms, and cyclopropane moieties, are systematically discussed.
