Zusammenfassung
Design und Material von Intraokularlinsen (IOL) unterliegen je nach den an die Implantate gestellten Anforderungen einem stetigen Wandel. IOL sind aus Optik und Haptiken aufgebaut. Heutige kapselsackfixierte IOL haben hauptsächlich ein einstückiges C-Loop- oder ein Plattenhaptikdesign. Das Haptikdesign ist wichtig für die Rotationsstabilität der IOL sowie die postoperative effektive Linsenposition. Neuere Konzepte bedienen sich des vorderen Blattes des Kapselsacks als Befestigungsort der Kunstlinse. Verschiedene Materialien dienen als Grundsubstanz zur IOL-Herstellung. Das erste IOL-Material Polymethylmethacrylat (PMMA) wird aufgrund fehlender Flexibilität heute selten verwendet. Stattdessen werden die meisten IOL inzwischen aus faltbaren Acrylaten hergestellt.
