Zusammenfassung
Gesundheitsthemen sind ein wichtiger Bestandteil der medialen Massenkommunikation. Dabei wirft die Medienrealität Fragen nach ihren Konstruktionsbedingungen, dem resultierenden inhaltlichen Zuschnitt und der Qualität der gesundheitsbezogenen Kommunikation auf. Vor diesem Hintergrund stellt der Beitrag die kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Grundlagen der journalistischen Selektion und Qualität sowie einen Forschungsüberblick zu Gesundheitsthemen in den Medien dar.
