Summary
Low level heat can be collected by an energy roof and taken to a higher level by heat pumping. If the heat pump is utilized in building heating, the energy roof is useless in summer, i.e. when solar collection can be more efficient. Therefore the coupling of an energy roof with a seasonal storage can be useful. An experimental work is carried out at Musile di Piave near Venice concerning absorption heat pump heating of a building, using as cold source either an energy roof or an earth seasonal storage composed of 16 vertical tubes at a depth of 15 m. The earth storage is equipped with thermal resistances in order to know the temperatures in the soil both during summer charging and in the heating season. Details of the plant and the first experimental results in charging the storage by a 100 m2 energy roof are reported.
