Abstract
The experimental results of a modified double inlet pulse tube refrigerator without a reservoir are presented in this paper. The reservoir is replaced by a special control unit with a rotary valve. The hot end heat exchanger is cooled with air by natural convection. These facts are favourable for future miniaturisation and multistaging. The estimation of the gross refrigeration power based on the enthalpy flow model is presented. The system reaches a cold end temperature of 80 K within 20 min and attained at 77 K a net refrigeration power of about 5 W.
