Abstract
There is now considerable experimental evidence of the existence of hippocampal effects on various autonomic functions (Kaada and Jasper, 1952; MacLean, 1955; Airikyan and Gaske, 1966, and others) . By modulating the excitability of the autonomic centers in the hypothalamus, the hippocampus possibly participates in the regulation of visceral activity.
