Zusammenfassung

Immuntherapeutische Interventionen sind heute integraler Bestandteil onkologischer Behandlungskonzepte. Dies gilt sowohl für die antikörpervermittelten Ansätze als auch für zelltherapeutische Strategien wie die Tumorvakzination und den adoptiven Transfer antineoplastischer zytotoxischer Effektorzellen (ZTL). Zugleich bedienen sich Tumoren eines Arsenals von Mechanismen, um sich der Überwachung durch das Immunsystem zu entziehen. Stand in den Anfängen der Immuntherapie die Optimierung tumorspezifischer zytotoxischer Effektorfunktionen im Vordergrund, richten sich neuere Konzepte auch gezielt gegen tumoreigene immunsuppressive Mechanismen, um die klinische Wirksamkeit immuntherapeutischer Ansätze zu verbessern.
