Zusammenfassung

Das Forschungsinteresse zur Soziopathie und seinen neurobiologischen, speziell den neuroanatomischen Grundlagen hat in den letzten Jahren stark zugenommen. Dennoch stützt sich das neurobiologische Verständnis der Soziopathie noch immer auf eine recht dünne und vor allem heterogene Datenlage, nicht zuletzt aufgrund einer großen Variabilität in den Studiendesigns. Bisherige Befunde bringen Soziopathie in Zusammenhang mit hirnstrukturellen Auffälligkeiten in präfrontalen, temporalen und subkortikal-limbischen Arealen, also Hirnarealen, die besonders für die Emotionsregulation und -verarbeitung, für soziale Kognition, Lernprozesse und Verhaltenskontrolle bedeutsam sind.
