Electronic Theory of the Thermodynamics and Structure of Liquid Metals

  • Chapter
Microscopic Structure and Dynamics of Liquids

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((NSSB,volume 33))

Abstract

Over the last six or seven years signficant progress has been made in understanding the structure and the thermodynamic properties of liquid metals. This has resulted from a conjugation of the electron theory of metals and the theory of classical fluids. These lecture notes will describe some recent work in this area. A comprehensive review is not intended. The selection of topics reflects the author’s own interest.
