Zusammenfassung

Das Häorrhoidalleiden gehöt zu den häfigsten Erkrankungen in den westlichen industrialisierten Lädern. Es betrifft Männer und Frauen, Kinder und ältere Menschen. Männer beklagen doppelt so häufig Hämorrhoidalbeschwerden wie Frauen. Bei Routineuntersuchungen zeigt sich bei ca. 50% der Patienten mit einem Alter über 50 Jahren eine pathologische Ausprägung des Hämorrhoidalpolsters, wobei nicht alle diese Veränderungen symptomatisch sind. Exakte Zahlen über die Inzidenz gibt es bis jetzt nicht.
