Abstract

The present experiments were designed for the development of a liquid chromatographic coupled with tandem mass spectrometric method for the quantitation of trace amount of protoveratrine A in rat plasma. A liquid-liquid extraction protocol was involved in sample preparation. Quantitation was achieved using multiple-reaction-monitoring (MRM) mode. The method was validated with the concentration range 0.02–40 ngmL−1 in plasma. Intra-/inter-day accuracy and precision as well as the LOD and the lower limit of quantitation were acceptable. The method was further applied to analyze protoveratrine A in rat plasma samples.
