Novel IFN-α receptor promoter polymorphisms

Abstract

We have identified two single nucleotide polymorphisms and one dinucleotide microsatellite within the promoter region of the interferon-α receptor gene (IFNAR, GenBank accession number X60459). Allele frequencies in a Caucasian population were established using PCR-RFLP for the two SNPs and semi-automated genotyping for the microsatellite.
