Abstract
CONODONTS are disjunct elements of, probably, an internal food-gathering and/or macerating device of the conodontophorid animal which flourished in the Palaeozoic and early Mesozoic seas. They are excellent tools for biozonations and long distance correlations of marine sedimentary rocks of that age1.
