Abstract
HEPATIC tyrosine transaminase activity in untreated rats1 or mice2 given free access to dietary protein3 and exposed to alternate periods of light and darkness4 undergoes four-fold variations during each 24 h period. Much of the amino-acid intake is metabolized by deamination5 and we have sought to determine whether the rate of transformation of injected tyrosine in the mouse varies with time of day.
