Abstract

THE following report of work on the relationship of dose-rate depression of DNA synthesis is part of a more comprehensive investigation of the effects of irradiation on the biosynthetic mechanism of DNA replication. One of the specific reasons for the investigation was to determine whether one of the major criteria (dose-rate independence) for utilization of the target theory was fulfilled for radiation effects of DNA synthesis in the biological test system used1,2.
