Structural studies of conformers of 3-(N-acetyl-N-arylamino)tropones by heteronuclear, two-dimensional, and dynamic NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis

Abstract

Acylation of 5,7-di(tert-butyl)-2-(5,8-dimethyl-4-piperidinoquinolin-2-yl)-3-(3,5-dimethylphenylamino)tropone leads to the corresponding 3-(N-acetyl-N-arylamino)tropone. Heteronuclear, two-dimensional, and dynamic NMR spectroscopy were used to determine structures of conformers of N-acetyl-3-arylaminotropone. The structure of 3-[N-acetyl-N(3,5-dimethylphenyl)amino]-5,7-di(tert-butyl)-2-(5,8-dimethyl-4-piperidinoquinolin-2-yl)tropone was established by X-ray diffraction studies.
