An Approximation Approach to the Evolution of the Fragmentation Function

Abstract

We derive an approximation approach to the evolution of the fragmentation functions at Leading-Order (LO) by using a Laplace-transform technique. We calculate the fragmentation functions for meson states of \(c\bar {c}\) (η,ψ) in LO and evolution up to the high factorization scales. Our results for the fragmentation functions are in good agreement with other results.
