Abstract

Experimental data of the density, refractive index, viscosity, electrical conductivity, and pH of a copper (II) sulfate + poly(ethylene glycol) 4000 + water system were obtained at (288.15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15) K over a wide composition range. Othmer’s rule was used to correlate the experimental data of the density, refractive index, and viscosity. The electrical conductivity data were transformed to an equivalent conductance and were correlated by group, according to the percentage of poly(ethylene glycol). The pH data were also correlated as functions of the poly(ethylene glycol) and copper sulfate concentrations. In all cases, an acceptable agreement between experimental and correlated values was obtained.
