In the originally published version of our article Usó-Doménech and Nescolarde-Selva (2016), the authors wish to recognize an earlier work on ‘Belief and Knowledge Systems’, namely Abelson (1979). This important reference to earlier work should be included and acknowledged for the sake of completeness. The aim of this correction is to indicate the work that should have been mentioned in our article.
On the first page, i.e. page 147, of our article Usó-Doménech and Nescolarde-Selva (2016), the first sentence of the second paragraph should be changed into the following sentence “The use of the term “belief system” (Abelson, 1979) can be highly confusing.”
On the second page, i.e. page 148, of our article Usó-Doménech and Nescolarde-Selva (2016), the first sentence of section 1 should be changed into the following sentence “Belief systems have the following properties (Abelson, 1979), and through them social significance.”
