In the original publication of the article, the sentence “Mean flow is from right to left.” in caption of Fig. 7 was incorrect. The correct caption with Fig. 7 is given below:

Fig.7
figure 7

Flow layers and u-velocity profiles for the upstream saddle point position for \(Re=2.8\) (black), \(Re=29\) (blue) and \(Re=58\) (red). a Boundary layer thickness \(T_{\rm bl}\) (dotted line) and u-velocity profiles (solid lines). \(T_{\rm bl}\) is calculated from the shape of the u-velocity profiles. Changes of \(T_{\rm bl}\) along the permeable wall are small and within the measurement accuracy. b Boundary layer thickness (dotted lines) and permeate thickness \(T_p\) (solid lines). Except far downstream, \(T_{\rm bl}\) is smaller than \(T_p\). Therefore, if normal forces are to influence the separation of particles, this will occur inside the permeate layer. Mean flow is from left to right. The maximum u-velocity for \(Re=58\) is 1.6 times the freestream velocity around a circular cylinder, \(U_\infty \cdot \text{ sin }\theta \) (color figure online)

“Mean flow is from right to left.” should be “Mean flow is from left to right.”
