Samenvatting

Zo op het eerste gezicht zijn ‘depressie’ en ‘ejaculatie’ twee termen die weinig met elkaar te maken hebben. De veelvoorkomende klacht van depressieve patiënten dat hun libido verminderd is (Matthew & Weinman, 1982) geeft echter aan dat er wel degelijk een relatie bestaat. De koppeling tussen depressies en seksueel gedrag wordt nog eens extra duidelijk uit de vele meldingen dat behandeling met antidepressiva leidt tot ejaculatieproblemen, met name tot vertraging of uitblijven van de zaadlozing (Rosen et al., 1999).
