Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

The ring-chain tautomeric equilibrium constants (K) of aryl-ring-substituted 3-arylamino-3-phenylphthalides in dioxane were measured by UV spectroscopy. A satisfactory linear correlation between log K/K0 and the σ+ constants of the substituents in the aryl ring was found.
