Video Transcript
The indirect inguinal hernia is the lateral hernia. The video here shows the dissection of indirect inguinal hernia. The indirect inguinal sac runs with the spermatic cord and enters the deep ring. This sac is to be approached right next to the deep ring with spermatic cord dissected away from the indirect sac.
If the indirect sac is incomplete, it can be reduced completely by reaching the fundus of the sac. If the indirect sac is either a complete hernia or a congenital hernia, it needs to be separated from the spermatic cord, ligated, and divided distally. The distal part of the sac is to be left open to prevent formation of the hydrocele in the post-operative period.
