The post-operative period the patient gets an X-ray to check the reduction. And the hand elevation is advised for a period of first one week with arm pouch, and the wrist support brace is given for a period of six weeks. All these patients get the finger, elbow, and shoulder exercises from day one. A weekly wound inspection is done, and K-wires are generally removed at the end of six weeks. Active wrist movement exercises are started and graded strengthening done up to three months.
And this is a simple wrist brace, which is used in the immediate post-op. We give it for six weeks. And taking the brace off, you will exercise.
