Indications of laser DCR include selective cases of primary acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction. This selection can be done based on the clinical findings of epiphora as well as on CT dacryocystography. Bony morphology of lacrimal fossa can be helpful in anticipating the bony thickness and has been explained in detail in our video on endoscopic marsupialization of the lacrimal sac in atypical cases. Filling defect on CT DCG is also an indication of long standing disease and these cases are likely to fail following laser DCR.However failed cases with fibrotic closure of ostium and elderly patients on blood thinner with other co-morbidities are also good candidtae for laser DCR.
